PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS
Cochrane Psychology Services offers psycho-educational assessments for school-aged children and youth who may be experiencing challenges in their educational program due to undiagnosed learning disabilities, attention difficulties, giftedness, and/or social-emotional issues. Our goal with these assessments is to understand a student’s unique profile of strengths and challenges, as well as to provide strategies and recommendations for support, in order to improve confidence in learning and academic achievement.

- Clinical interview to gather relevant information related to the student’s presenting concern, including a developmental history
- Direct evaluation with the student (2-3 testing sessions; approximately 1 to 3 hours each)
- Completion of clinical rating scales by student, teacher(s) and/or parent(s) as required
- Review of documents (i.e., school report cards, Individualized Program Plans [IPP] and previous assessments by other professionals including occupational, speech-language reports)
- Test scoring of standardized measures and interpretation of results
- Feedback meeting to explain assessment results and share recommendations
- Written report that integrates background information gathered, standardized test results, clinical impressions and specific recommendations to support learning and advocate for your child
